Faulks History

Back in 1946, gas cost 15 cents.  A new house cost $5,600.  Waupaca had 83 one-room schoolhouses.

Also in 1946, Syd and Oliver Faulks returned home from WWII.  They bought a couple shovels and an old Army truck.  Syd and Oliver Faulks used that truck to deliver sand and gravel to customers around the Waupaca area.  Today the third generation of Faulks is moving the family-owned company ahead with new ventures.

Many of Faulks Bros. services focus on helping Waupaca County residents with their land improvement needs.  Customers can come to Faulks Bros.’ yard to pick up decorative stone, topsoil, or even a bucket of sand, to use for projects around their houses.  For larger projects, we bring equipment to your jobsite for basements, driveways, grading, pond digging, demolition, and other sitework.

In addition to local services, Faulks Bros. also operates a little further from home.  The company’s SportZmix Solutions division has done golf course construction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and most states in the U.S.  The Waupaca Sand & Solutions division sells specialty sands and maintenance materials to golf courses and athletic fields in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and other states.

Faulks Bros. would like to thank the community for the opportunity to be of service in the past and, hopefully, in the future.
